The WOOE is the only fair in the world dedicated exclusively to olive oil, in the Spanish agro-food sector.
The general director of Ifema, Eduardo López-Puertas, and the president of the company Pomona Keepers, Otilia Romero de Condés, signed on January 8th in Madrid an agreement for the co-organization of the World Olive Oil Exhibition (WOOE), which will be held on March 18th and 19th in the pavilion 14 of the Madrid exhibition institution and in which the biggest olive oil producers of the world will meet.
In a joint statement, these entities stressed that Ifema's commitment to this event is not only a boost for the projection and scope of the fair, but also shows the interest in promoting olive oil, a product in which Spain is the largest producer worldwide and one of the most important economically.
In this sense, for Pomona Keepers, owner of the WOOE, the participation of Ifema in this great event, in which it will transfer its knowledge and experience in the organization of fairs, "will come to boost the production of a key congress within the agro-food sector, not only at a national level, but also at an international level, with the presence of olive oil producers from all over the world".
Likewise, they pointed out that Globalcaja has also wanted to promote the importance of the olive oil sector in our country and since its beginnings this entity is a partner of Pomona Keepers in the WOOE, thus supporting the agro-food sector. Likewise, Enopassión, a company that owns 60% of Pomona Keepers, is in charge of organizing events dedicated to the wine sector such as Enofusión.
"The fact that
Ifema has wanted to participate together with Pomona Keepers in the
organisation of the WOOE means the definitive consolidation of a fair
that has grown exponentially every year and that, for some time now,
has reached its maturity in its internationalisation",
Otilia Romero de Condés underlined, who added that "with
this alliance we understand that the range of international
participation and the boost to the Spanish olive oil sector is
extended".
This
new alliance, in the words of Eduardo López-Puertas, "represents
for Ifema the opportunity to extend the agro-food sector framework,
in which we are gaining weight on an international scale, with one of
the national products par excellence, olive oil, contributing our
know-how and expertise in the organisation and projection of what is
already the world's first monographic fair in this sector".
